WIRSPA’s Icon series returns with Robert Henriques, the former managing director of the Wray & Nephew Agricultural Division. The Icon series features in-depth interviews with the people whose decades of service have helped shape Caribbean rum in recent years.
Generations of the Henriques family have played an important role in Wray & Nephew’s management and ownership. Robert oversaw all of Wray & Nephew’s agricultural operations for decades, including the Appleton and New Yarmouth distilleries. In addition, Robert has served on numerous industry boards, including Jamaica’s Spirits Pool.

Guest: Michael Delevante, Former Production Manager and Brand Ambassador, J. Wray & Nephew
Michael Delevante joined J. Wray & Nephew in 1963 as the supervisor of Appleton and New Yarmouth distilleries. Over the next 50 years, he held many positions with the firm, including Production Director and President of Wray & Nephew Canada. He also played an important role in the Canadian spirits industry for many years.
Among his technical accomplishments are designing Appleton’s pot stills and co-authoring the book, The Distiller’s Guide to Rum.
