About Brendan:
Brendan McCarron joined The Glenmorangie Company as Head of Maturing Whisky Stocks in June 2014.
At Glenmorangie Brendan works closely with the Distillery Managers and their teams to ensure that the quality of spirit produced at both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg is consistently perfect and to ensure that the right amount of liquid, wood and stocks are laid down to develop future expressions of Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.
During his career in the whisky industry Brendan has helped to design Roseisle Distillery – the first distillery to be built in Speyside for 30 years; managed Oban Distillery; and was Group manager of Lagavulin Distillery, Caol Ila Distillery and Port Ellen Maltings on Islay.
Brendan holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Distillers award for his Diploma in Distilling.
Having lived on Islay for 3 years Brendan has a soft spot for its peated whiskies and enjoys holidaying on the island.
