What You’ll Learn: Join Montanya founder Karen Hoskin for a deep dive into the Crested Butte, Colorado distillery’s most recent limited release rum: Valentia. 

This first-of-its-kind release was created by women at every stage of production, from distillation, to aging, to bottling, as a celebration of the progress women have made in craft distilling. 

After aging for 3.5 years in used whiskey barrels, it was transferred to used rye barrels from Catoctin Creek Distillery for an additional six months of aging, making it Montanya’s longest-aged release to date. 

In addition to discussing Valentia’s significance and the process that went into creating it, Karen will also give attendees a window into the overall production process that makes Montanya’s rums unique, and what’s next for the distillery.

Karen Hoskin has been an entrepreneur for over 20 years—most recently as the owner and founder of craft distillery Montanya Distillers and as co-founder of Zoetica, a social entrepreneurship company focused on zero-waste products and consulting. She currently owns and helps operate both businesses.
