About Colin Spoelman:

Colin Spoelman is Co-Founder and Distiller at Kings County Distillery, New York City’s premiere craft distillery. Born and raised in rural Kentucky, Colin started distilling moonshine in Brooklyn as a hobby and went legitimate in 2010, founding Kings County with David Haskell. Kings County’s whiskeys are traditional yet creative, borrowing from disparate distilling traditions to make exceptional whiskeys that defy categorization. The distillery has won highest awards from the American Distilling Institute, the American Craft Spirits Association, and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and praise from the New York Timesthe New Yorker, and Whiskey Advocate, among many other outlets. With Haskell his co-author of The Kings County Distillery Guide to Urban Moonshining, a how-to manual for whiskey making and drinking, and Dead Distillers, both published by Abrams. Colin graduated from Yale University.
