Channel: Let’s Get Tropical

What You’ll Learn: Exotica music was created in Hollywood as film music without a film, a mashup of tropical beats, jazz and orchestral music. In the mid50’s Don The Beachcomber brought it to Honolulu and from there to the top of the charts, when hundreds of recordings followed. Brother Cleve explains the history of the sound, while playing selections from his extensive record collection.
